Fun and frivolity complemented the traditional activities which took place on the estate including a Victorian May Day Olympics which included a three-legged race, sack races and potato races.

Traditional May Day treats were cooked up in the kitchens at the servants' quarters and the farm and the estate's master brewer produced Shugborough's own fine ale in the working brew house.

Turning in a sterling performance for Christmas shoppers in Wolverhampton City Centre, contending with numb fingers and frozen valves and chapped lips, with not a hip flask in sight !

God rest ye merry gentlemen

Now an annual ritual, members of the band get into the spirit of Christmas by playing carols and festive tunes outside each others front doors on Christmas morning.

The merry band steadily grows in size with each house visited !!

Following the band’s performance at a recent wedding, we have received the following message: “I just wanted to say again how much we appreciated your band’s support at our daughter’s wedding at Ingestre Hall on 21st August. 2010 Your music was greatly appreciated.”

“Many people commented on the day and have reminisced since on how much they enjoyed listening to you. You also helped by guiding in the lost guests thus enabling the wedding to proceed!”

The band enjoyed the day and are happy to consider requests to perform at other weddings throughout the area.
